Hostwinds offers a very short 72-hour (3 days) money-back guarantee, significantly less than the industry standard of 30 days. To qualify, customers must cancel services within the Client Portal and request a refund within 72 hours of the payment transaction.
Refunds are only available for credit card, PayPal, or Alipay payments. Be very careful with them
I need to warn others. I had shared WordPress hosting with them for several years. I put in a support ticket to cancel my annual plan one day before the renewal date, but they still charged my credit card. They then refused to honor the cancellation and refund my card. To deny the refund, they used some very suspicious loophole that clearly goes against consumer protection laws in my state.

I’ve been using Hostwinds for a little over a month now, and I must say it’s such an amazing hosting platform. I’d also like to point out their support team: it’s amazing. Not only do they respond very fast, they also guide you through ANYTHING and do anything in their power to help you. This is how a support team should be. I once had a question about linking my domain to the hosting, and they logged into my GoDaddy account to do it for me. That’s how dedicated they are to helping their customers. I would 100% recommend you guys to use this, especially if you’re not all too sure how to set things up.

I've been with Hostwinds for about ten months now and I'm really happy with their hosting. It's a solid platform that just works well.

sad and horrible experience
They are sad and horrible. I give them two stars only because they did host my website and email for many years and it worked most of the time. But about four years ago they lost my website and took weeks to restore an older version and then months to admit they had a problem. Recently my web builder stopped working and they said it would only work again if I paid for an expensive upgrade. I moved to namehero which is great and costs a quarter of the price. Hostwinds does have tech support people (and/or AI) trying hard to find solutions (and for that I am thankful) but the Hostwinds system is rotten to the core. They told me the only way to cancel my renewal was to cancel the account, which I did, and then they immediately deleted everything without sending me a message saying what they had done or even saying goodbye. The only thing they did not delete on my account was my credit card details, and now they say they cannot do that without opening a ticket. I prefer to cancel the credit card because I don't trust their system. I can see other reviewers complain about unauthorized charges and I believe Hostwinds would do that deliberately as part of their sad business model. Goodbye hostwinds. I can sleep better without you.

Don't use Hostwinds!
This platform has been extremely disappointing. After running the server for just a few days, it was unexpectedly deactivated without prior notice. I was also asked to submit verification documents, but the process still didn’t go through even after I provided them.

Read this before buying
In order to use the latest PHP version you'll have to upgrade to one of their VPS plans. Also, if you choose the Basic plan and want a full backup of your data from their server, you'll have to open a support ticket, because they have removed the Backup option in cPanel, so you can't do it yourself. This is not OK for me so I'll change web host instead. Problem solved.

I absolutely love the support through the chat. I feel like there is always someone there and ready to help. This is the 6th similar server that I have set up with Hostwinds. The only complaint that I have is that I cannot have one account with multiple billing types. For instance, I'd like each server to be billed and paid by my customer. But in order to do that now, I have to use different accounts or email addresses.

Hostwinds is refreshing, supportive, not in-your-face with constant reminders, but firm when something IS about to expire. There are other suppliers that are not as thoughtful and easy to deal with.
Been with them for 3 years and no complaints
Been with these people for 3 years and have no complaints. Performance and uptimes have been excellent. I just provisioned a managed VPS and I needed help twice, both times it was dealt with and sorted almost instantly.
Most of the complaints seem to be from people who have chosen the wrong service for their needs, are trying to run something which isn't properly resourced, or they have ventured into the unknown hoping they can figure it out.
I've been in the game for 25 years. If you select the right service, and you know what you're doing, this crowd is good value for money, reliable, and friendly.
