Great help with DNS changes
I want to give a shoutout to Christian! I asked him to explain things to me one step at a time for my request and he did it perfectly. After spending two weeks stuck because of my own errors, he gave me the exact solution I needed.
A bit annoying that you need a card for the free student plan
I wanted the free Student plan but you have to put in credit card details, which I didn't expect. That was a bit of a letdown.

This is a good, serious company where everything is straightforward and simple, without any extra fuss, but they still offer really professional services. For me now, Name.com is definitely the top spot to register and take care of domains. Great job!

Watch out if you need to transfer your domain away
Be careful when you try to move your domain out. They don't just give you the authorization code. I opened a ticket and waited for 3 days and nobody helped me with it.

Have to wait over 6 weeks to know if we get the domain
We picked a domain and paid for it, and now they're telling us we need to wait more than 6 weeks to actually get it. Will we even get it? I'm not sure. They should really say this before you pay, not after, because it holds up so many other services that need the domain to be confirmed as yours.

Thanks, name.com. I ran into a technical problem when I was trying to get a domain name, but the support team was so nice and helpful the whole time, they helped me get the exact domain I wanted. It took a while because the glitch was persistent, but the support team kept answering my questions and helped me finally get my domain.
Reported phishing, but the problem came back worse
I contacted Name.com about phishing emails coming from one of their domains. They replied fast and it looked fixed for a few days, but then the same domain started up again, sending even more phishing emails than before! I get tons of these emails from several of their domains! It's really bad that they let this kind of thing happen on their platform.
Longtime customer with a recent terrible experience
I've been with Name.com for many years and usually trusted them. But what happened recently has been really upsetting.
A payment showed up as pending that I didn't authorize and never meant to make. I contacted support and explained everything clearly, but Name.com either can't or won't cancel this pending charge.
I did everything they said and messaged customer support more than once, but the problem is still there. The replies were slow and didn't give a real solution, which is so disappointing for someone who's been a loyal customer for so long.
This whole thing has caused me stress and I don't trust them like I did. I need them to cancel that unauthorized charge right away and fix their billing and support so other people don't go through this.

Really bad refund experience
I'm really let down by the refund process. I made a domain in Dec 2025 and paid for it, that was fine. Right away I realized my mistake (I missed some info in the name) so I contacted customer service immediately. I explained I made an error and was buying the correct domain (which I also paid for). They told me the refund should be easy and no problem... then nothing. I had to keep asking customer service over and over what I needed to do to get the refund. Fast forward to Jan 13 and I followed up again, and found out from a support person that it's now too late... super disappointed, I've been a customer here for many years. It's sad.
Jan 14 update - I got a reply that doesn't really address the issue. The ticket they say is updated is useless, it's just a copy of the chat. The fact that I tried right when the mistake happened should count for something. But to just say it's too late for a refund now... that's not good customer service.

No big complaints overall
Their ways can be a bit weird sometimes, especially with free subscriptions and how you claim them. But in the end, all my problems got solved one way or another. Their 24/7 support is a lifesaver and the people seem to genuinely want to help.
I'd recommend working with them, they've got good prices too.
