Quick action on a phishing report

Absolute nightmare, stay away
This is an update so people know what's really going on. We've had 38 domains with Namesilo since 2013. The new management sold one of our domains and then demanded crypto to give it back. All our sites are down, costing us around GBP 250,000 a day across 26 countries. We have all the proof. They're not a legit registrar anymore, it's turned into something else entirely with hostage situations and ransom demands. Do you really want to trust them with your domains? We're trying to get all ours out now.

Terrible support, messed up my account
Had an absolutely awful experience with NameSilo support today. Spent about 2 hours on live chat with an agent called Ijonk trying to fix a simple WHOIS contact issue. Instead of helping, they gave me contradictory info about how things work, changing their story multiple times. The worst part? They told me to change account details that didn't need changing, and then couldn't restore it. At one point, my account was showing details of one of my customers from another country. That's a huge privacy and trust issue. Nothing got resolved, and my account was left in a worse state. Can't recommend them if you want competent and safe support.
Too expensive and not user-friendly
It's way more expensive than other places I've used for domains, and managing domains isn't straightforward. Propagation seems to take forever too. There are definitely better options out there.
Honest pricing and great for devs
As a developer juggling lots of projects, NameSilo has been my go-to for ages. Their pricing is totally transparent, no nasty surprises or big hikes at renewal, which is rare. The interface is clean and makes DNS management and transfers easy. Free WHOIS privacy is a nice bonus, and security seems solid. It's a reliable, no-nonsense service that saves time and money. Highly recommend for anyone wanting straightforward service.
Poor experience trying to switch
I've got almost 800 domains and was planning to move them from my old provider to NameSilo because service there has gone downhill. Started moving some, no problem. Then tried to move a few more and fund my account for the discount program, got a fraud alert. I get security, fine. But the error message mentioned some company I never heard of. Chatted with NameSilo, they asked for photo ID, sent it. Then they asked for a selfie holding ID and a paper with NameSilo and date. Sent that too. Hours later, just a message saying they're handling it. It's been way too long for something this simple. They could verify my business easily. Decided to just find another provider instead. Plenty of other options.
