People who scam can make fake stores on Shopify really easily. Honestly, it's not worth the stress. You're better off going to Amazon because they actually take responsibility for their platform. Shopify just isn't worth it.

This AI thing they have is just terrible, it's the worst. It doesn't do anything but lie and make excuses. I've never seen a program that says sorry for every single thing you ask. It tells you stuff is done, but then when you check because it's so unreliable, it just gives you more excuses.

Einfach unglaublich. Statt Shops, die offensichtlich betrügen, zu sperren, können die weiterhin Leute auf der Plattform abzocken. Die Antwort auf meine Beschwerde war im Grunde: Pech gehabt, interessiert uns nicht. Man soll ein Formular ausfüllen, das sie dann an die Betrüger weiterleiten, was die natürlich überhaupt nicht juckt. Es ist auch ein totales Politikversagen, wie Firmen aus Übersee hier in Europa machen können, was sie wollen. Machst du einen kleinen Fehler in deinem eigenen Shop, kriegst du sofort eine Abmahnung. Für Shops aus dem Ausland gelten aber nicht mal die einfachsten Regeln wie die Impressumpflicht.

If I could give zero stars I would

Hi,
A weird order showed up on my account that I never placed. I tried to contact the seller's website but it doesn't even exist anymore. I emailed Shopify and they just said to contact the seller. They expect me to phone random people and they offer zero support to customers using their service. It's a terrible experience, you just get sent in circles on their website. This whole thing could be a scam but Shopify doesn't seem to care at all.

Katastrophale Erfahrung mit einem Sitzsack

Ich hatte für meine Tochter einen Sitzsack bestellt. Es war eine totale Katastrophe. Der Sack und die Füllkügelchen kamen getrennt. Die Anleitung, wie man die Kügelchen in den mitgelieferten Sack und dann in die Hülle füllt, war unmöglich zu befolgen, die Öffnung war viel zu klein. Die Kügelchen sind überall hingeflogen, dann ist der Sack mit der Füllung geplatzt und der ganze Raum war voll. Die Kügelchen waren aus Styropor und voller statischer Aufladung. Ich habe stundenlang gebraucht, um das Chaos zu beseitigen. Der Staubsauger war dauernd verstopft und mit Handfeger ging es auch kaum. Am Ende haben wir die Kügelchen mit der Schaufel in die Hülle gekratzt. Jetzt ist er halbwegs brauchbar. Ich kauf da nie wieder was und rate jedem dringend davon ab, auf dieser Plattform zu kaufen.

It arrived broken because of terrible packaging

I ordered a beautiful white angel statue as a Christmas gift. They shipped it in a simple bubble envelope! It arrived on December 24th broken into three pieces. My stepmom didn't have a gift from me. I just got back from holiday travel yesterday, January 8th, and went to look up how to return it. The return window closed on the 7th! The packaging was asking for trouble, and the return time is way too short. I can't find any contact info to talk to a real person. I lost $32. I guess I learned my lesson. Order #12298.

Shopify won't help you if you get scammed on their site

I bought from a shop called MovieHub, just some cheap dropshipping junk from China. The thing I ordered didn't work, and I'm still waiting for them to contact me back. I also bought a projector that's made of the cheapest plastic. You could get the exact same thing on Temu for pennies. Save your money and your sanity. I'm so tired of getting ripped off by these dropshipping sites that don't care about quality, only about making a quick buck. This shop running on Shopify is scamming people. I reported it to Shopify, but they keep sending my complaint back to the merchant. Shopify doesn't care about the customer, they just look the other way. I guess as long as these scam businesses keep paying their monthly fees, Shopify is happy to let them run. By not helping customers who report fraud, Shopify is helping these scammers.

The worst platform, do NOT use it for business

Seriously, do not use Shopify. Their customer service is the absolute worst and you will never, ever get to talk to a human being. They give you the runaround. I had all my business money in their online banking, and one morning I woke up to find they had locked my account saying it was hacked. I jumped through all their hoops, but they kept all my money locked up for over a week. This caused me huge financial stress. You can't get any help except from AI and tech support emails. I can't even tell you how this ends because I'm still fighting it right now. If you're thinking about Shopify, just try to talk to a human first – they claim to have 24/7 support but it's all AI, then they put you on a ticket waitlist that never goes anywhere. I was with them for 8 years and when things went bad, it was all on their end.

This app is a total nightmare, avoid it

STAY AWAY, it's a nightmare! I have to say, the Marketplace Connect app is so incredibly frustrating. I'm a web developer and thought linking my eBay listings to Shopify would be straightforward, but it's just a mess. The interface is confusing and full of bugs, it feels like it was released half-finished. It's really disappointing when you expect something to work smoothly and it turns into such a hassle. They seriously need to improve. Hopefully they fix it soon because right now it's just not good enough.

They are scamming me with monthly charges

Shopify started charging me £25 every month even though I'm not even using their service. I tried to close my account but couldn't find any way to do it. They just keep sending me emails saying my £25 payment failed. You can't even reply to those emails. They send a link to a help page that has no actual contact details! Avoid these scammers at all costs!

Unacceptable delays and useless support

The customer service backend at Shopify is really poor. I have a very simple issue – I need to verify my account so I can transfer my store to a new owner. It's been over two weeks and it's still not fixed.

The most frustrating part is the wrong information. Every time I contact support, they tell me something different or just give incorrect answers. Nobody can give me a clear timeline for when this will be sorted. There's no sense of urgency or accountability, even though this delay is costing me money.

For a platform that says it's good for business, this level of inefficiency and bad support is just unacceptable. I expected a lot better from a company this big.

Ho comprato sul sito Bonucci store, che si appoggia su Shopify, un paio di scarpe Autry da 130€. Oggi mi sono arrivati degli stivaletti tipo Ugg... palesemente cinesi e della taglia sbagliata. Ovviamente l'unico contatto per fare un reso è una mail a cui nessuno risponde. Prima o poi i soldi che avete preso li spenderete, e non in cose buone. Che schifo.

Don't use them!!

I spent a whole week setting up a new Shopify account, moving over customer info, gift cards, and inventory. Right after our first sale, Shopify closed our account. We're still waiting to hear back from someone about what we did wrong... and for the money from that sale. It's been almost a month now and we've heard nothing from Shopify, not by email, phone, or in person. If my business was fully running on their platform I'd be out of business waiting for them. Would definitely not recommend, worst customer service I've ever dealt with.

Shopify has no morals - STAY AWAY!!!!

Shopify is cold, greedy, money-hungry, careless and has no morals!
An error happened and I had proof of it, but between SHOPIFY and SPOCKET neither one would take responsibility or admit fault, and it cost me money!
Shopify has zero corporate responsibility, even though I have proof their advisor gave me wrong information that cost me with Spocket. These two companies need a proper customer service system that actually values its customers. Especially when Shopify or Spocket make a mistake – they should own up to it and fix it!

Completely disappointed and lost my money

I'm really disappointed with this platform. I created a few stores, activated the monthly payments, added all my products. When I thought I was finally ready to start selling, they didn't approve me for payments because my ITIN wasn't ready – even though I already had an LLC. I spent a lot of money and put in a big investment, only to get to the end and not be able to run my stores.

And it's no use saying I could use another payment method, because everyone knows Shopify Payments is better if you want to grow.

Because of this, I gave up on my stores. Today I came back just to get the name of an app I needed, and I saw I had a huge debt in subscription fees. They kept charging a company that isn't even selling anything!

I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

This company is a total scam!! I ordered a remote from an "appliancepartstore" and the day after I confirmed the order, I got a cancellation notice that said "no refund issued". Trying to get help from Shopify is impossible. Even though I went through all the steps, there's no way to actually contact them!

Shopify locked me out of my account. I have all the recovery codes and everything, but I still can't log in. All their help sections say to contact them, but you can't do that without being logged in. There's no email address or phone number to call.

I emailed the seller... no reply.
I filled out the complaint form on Spotify and they just sent my complaint to the seller.
What a total waste of time and money!!

Probably the WORST support team ever

Possibly the WORST support team I have ever had to deal with. It feels like I'm the one explaining their own system to them. They all seem clueless. Impossible de les joindre après une commande

Impossible de les contacter suite à une commande payée, le site semble être une arnaque (WOW PLUMPER).
J'ai commandé et payé avec ma carte, le paiement a été pris, j'ai envoyé un mail au vendeur sans réponse, aucune info de livraison. Impossible de faire une réclamation auprès de Shopify pour me faire rembourser.
Il vaut mieux payer par PayPal en cas de problème, eux au moins sont joignables et gèrent les litiges efficacement.

Faux site Birkenstock, commande fantôme et le pire c'est qu'ils vous empêchent de porter plainte en disant « pas de recours avant 30 jours » et après « contactez le vendeur » alors que vous avez essayé de contacter le vendeur mille fois sans réponse. Shopify shuts down small businesses to create problems in the industry. I started a small hobby business. But Shopify shut me down because I couldn't get supplies from the only company that supplies products in Australia. They refuse to supply small businesses unless they have a physical store. I was saving up to get to that point, and Shopify shut down all my sales because I don't get supplied by the monopoly holders who decide who can enter this industry. Ashamed I was silly enough to fall for this scam. They took so much money from me over time for nothing.

My son accidentally ordered a product for his e-bike. I got an email from Shopify telling me I had 24 hours to cancel the order, but there was no link to actually do it. I emailed back saying I wanted to cancel. No response. The order is on its way. They are terrible. No customer service. Feels intentional.

Don't pay money to shopify.com

Shopify hosts all kinds of shops. When you order something at such a shop, you pay your money to shopify.com. The problem is, when the online shop doesn't deliver the goods, shopify.com is unreachable and the game starts where they send you, the customer, back and forth. So, shopify.com gets your money, but you can't get it back from them when the shop doesn't deliver. My advice: don't transfer money if it goes to shopify.com.
(My son ordered clothes in September for €270 and now after 4 months it's still not delivered and besides a chatbot nobody has responded to our questions and complaints.)

Way too complicated for a beginner like me

As someone who's a total amateur, this is way too complicated. The actual part of the site where you add products to sell seems easy enough.
It's everything else that gets waaaaay too complicated. Why isn't it idiot-proof? Let's be honest, most people who want websites aren't IT experts, so in the end we all have to hire someone, which is what we wanted to avoid. Save yourself the hassle and just hire a company to do it all, you'll end up there anyway.

Der Service war super freundlich und hat mir Hoffnung gegeben, dass mein Problem gelöst wird. Ich hatte nämlich aus Versehen ein falsches Abonnement abgeschlossen und dann auch noch versehentlich den Account gelöscht. Es war ein Riesenproblem, doch der Support hat mir sehr geholfen und ich durfte sogar das Geld wiederbekommen.
