Web Hosting Hub Review Overview

4.0

Web Hosting Hub was established in 2010 and has grown steadily by offering only shared hosting solutions, making it an ideal choice for individuals and small business owners.

The company leverages its relationship with InMotion Hosting to provide a stable infrastructure with modern SSD storage and modern data centers. This approach guarantees speedy load times and a smooth user experience for websites with moderate traffic levels.

The hosting environment is designed with simplicity in mind. Using cPanel as the control panel, even those with little technical knowledge can manage domains, email accounts, and website files with ease. The inclusion of BoldGrid, a free drag-and-drop website builder powered by WordPress, helps customers create professional-looking websites without any coding. Our team at HostDean appreciates this straightforward setup as it minimizes the learning curve.

Customer support is a standout aspect of Web Hosting Hub. With a team of over 200 U.S.-based experts available 24/7 via phone, live chat, and email, users are never left without assistance. The support team is known for being responsive and knowledgeable, ensuring that issues are resolved quickly. This commitment to service makes it an attractive option for those new to hosting.

In terms of performance, Web Hosting Hub’s use of solid-state drives (SSDs) improves page load speeds. Their infrastructure is optimized to handle the needs of small websites and blogs, keeping performance consistent even during peak traffic times. The uptime guarantee and proactive monitoring also contribute to a reliable web hosting experience.

The pricing structure of Web Hosting Hub is competitive, especially when customers commit to longer-term plans. Although it might not be the most affordable option on a month-to-month basis (which isn’t available as a billing cycle—more on that later), the discounted rates for one- to three-year commitments, along with the free domain and advertising credits, provide great overall value for money. At HostDean, we value a web hosting provider that balances cost with essential features.

Security is addressed through measures such as free SSL certificates, routine malware scans, and firewalls. These features help protect websites from potential threats without overwhelming the user with complex options. Although Web Hosting Hub only offers shared hosting, it maintains a strong focus on security and stability.

Overall, Web Hosting Hub offers a balanced package for beginners and small enterprises. Its emphasis on ease of use, solid performance, and excellent support makes it a reliable choice. Our evaluation at HostDean confirms that it is a practical option for those starting their online journey while leaving room for growth and scalability within the shared hosting environment.

Rating Breakdown

Our team of hosting experts has rigorously tested and evaluated Web Hosting Hub using HostDean’s standardized rating methodology. By analyzing critical areas including performance, reliability, pricing, features, and customer support, we assign unbiased ratings out of 5 stars. These scores provide a clear snapshot of Web Hosting Hub’s strengths and overall value, making it easier to determine whether it’s the right hosting provider for your needs.

Criteria Rating Why did we give this score?
Performance 3.9

Web Hosting Hub leverages SSD storage and optimized server configurations to provide fast load times and a smooth browsing experience. Although its shared hosting environment may not match the speed of dedicated solutions, it performs very well for its target audience.

Reliability 4.0

Web Hosting Hub maintains a high level of uptime and dependable service through robust infrastructure and redundant data centers. The absence of VPS or dedicated hosting options limits scalability, yet for shared hosting, the service proves to be consistent and secure.

Pricing 4.0

The pricing of Web Hosting Hub is competitive when committing to longer terms. While the monthly cost may seem higher compared to some month-to-month options, the bundled features such as free domain registration, unlimited resources, and advertising credits deliver substantial value for the price.

Support 4.0

Customer support is one of the strong suits of Web Hosting Hub. With a dedicated team of over 200 U.S.-based support staff available 24/7 via phone, live chat, and email, the provider delivers responsive and knowledgeable service. Occasional delays in the ticketing system prevent a perfect score, but overall, the support experience is highly satisfactory.

Features 4.1

Web Hosting Hub offers a well-rounded set of features designed specifically for shared hosting. With unlimited storage, unlimited bandwidth, a free domain for the first year, free SSL certificates, and a user-friendly website builder, the platform caters to beginners and small businesses effectively. Some advanced features common in VPS or dedicated hosting are missing, but for its target audience, the feature set is comprehensive.

Web Hosting Hub Performance

Our expert's take on Web Hosting Hub performance.

3.9

Web Hosting Hub’s performance is one of its major strengths. By using solid-state drives on all hosting plans, the provider ensures that data retrieval times are significantly faster than traditional hard disk drives (HDDs). The faster read/write speeds contribute directly to lower time-to-first-byte (TTFB) and improved overall page load times.

For websites with moderate traffic—such as personal blogs, small business sites, or starter e-commerce platforms—these Web Hosting Hub speed improvements are noticeable and impactful. The shared environment is designed to allocate resources efficiently, and many users have reported consistent performance with minimal slowdowns even during periods of increased traffic.

The company also benefits from InMotion Hosting’s infrastructure, which has been refined over many years to maintain reliability and speed. Modern server configurations, efficient caching mechanisms, and proactive monitoring contribute to an environment where performance issues are identified and addressed quickly. Additionally, the network setup is configured to handle sudden spikes in visitor numbers without a significant drop in speed. For many customers, this means that their site will maintain responsiveness even as traffic fluctuates.

However, as a shared host, Web Hosting Hub inherently has some limitations compared to dedicated or VPS hosting environments, where resources are isolated. In cases where a website outgrows the typical resource allotment of shared hosting, performance might decline. For its target market, though, the provider’s performance is more than sufficient.

Moreover, performance testing conducted by us at HostDean and user feedback indicate that Web Hosting Hub’s uptime and load times are generally competitive. Its commitment to a 99.9% uptime guarantee ensures that performance remains stable, which is critical for maintaining visitor trust and SEO rankings. Overall, while not intended for high-traffic enterprise sites, the performance of Web Hosting Hub is reliable and efficient for the vast majority of small and medium-sized websites.

Web Hosting Hub Reliability

How reliable is Web Hosting Hub? Our insights.

4.0

Reliability is a key factor for any web hosting provider, and Web Hosting Hub delivers well in this regard. The company operates its service from state-of-the-art data centers located in strategic regions, ensuring that the physical infrastructure supporting its shared hosting environment is both modern and resilient.

With redundant power supplies, backup generators, and multiple network connections, the provider minimizes the risk of service interruptions due to hardware failures or power outages. This robust infrastructure forms the backbone of the 99.9% uptime guarantee that Web Hosting Hub offers.

The provider’s use of SSD storage not only boosts performance but also enhances reliability by reducing the risk of mechanical failures that can occur with traditional hard drives. SSDs provide more stable data access and quicker recovery in the event of an unexpected issue.

Additionally, proactive server monitoring plays an essential role in reliability. The technical team at Web Hosting Hub continuously monitors server performance and network traffic, allowing them to detect and rectify issues before they escalate into major problems. This level of oversight is crucial in maintaining consistent service for customers.

While the service is designed for shared hosting only, which naturally involves sharing resources among multiple users, Web Hosting Hub has optimized its system to ensure that one customer’s heavy usage does not adversely affect others.

Nevertheless, there can be occasions when high traffic on one website might lead to a temporary dip in resource availability; however, such incidents are rare and typically resolved quickly. The provider’s transparent communication regarding scheduled maintenance and unexpected downtimes further reinforces trust, as customers are kept informed about any potential interruptions in service.

Security measures also contribute indirectly to reliability. By offering free SSL certificates and maintaining strict security protocols, Web Hosting Hub protects websites from malware and DDoS attacks that could compromise uptime. Regular backups—although offered at an extra cost—add an extra layer of reliability by ensuring that data can be restored in the event of a technical failure.

Despite its limitations in scaling to VPS or dedicated hosting environments, the service’s consistent performance and robust infrastructure make it a dependable option for users who require steady uptime and minimal disruptions. Overall, for its intended market of small websites and blogs, Web Hosting Hub achieves a commendable level of reliability.

Web Hosting Hub Pricing

Are Web Hosting Hub's prices competitive? Here's our verdict.

4.0

Web Hosting Hub structures its pricing around shared hosting plans that are designed to be both affordable and feature-rich. The provider offers three main plans—Spark, Nitro, and Dynamo—catering to a range of user needs from beginners to those running more dynamic websites.

The introductory pricing is attractive when customers opt for longer-term commitments, with significant discounts available on one- to three-year subscriptions. This commitment-based pricing model helps lower the monthly equivalent rate, making it a cost-effective option for users planning to establish a long-term online presence.

Each plan includes several high-value extras at no additional cost, such as free domain registration for the first year, free SSL certificates, unlimited email accounts, and advertising credits that can help boost initial website traffic. These bundled features contribute to a strong price-to-value ratio, ensuring that customers receive more than just basic hosting services for their investment.

However, it is worth noting that the pricing model requires a minimum commitment, and customers who prefer month-to-month billing may find this restrictive. The need for longer-term contracts may deter some users who want the flexibility to switch providers quickly if needed. Web Hosting Hub offers a money-back guarantee, allowing you to try their service for up to 3 months and receive a full refund if you cancel within 90 days of purchase.

Additionally, some services, like automated backups, come with a $1 monthly fee. At HostDean, we find this less favorable, as these charges can accumulate over time. Although these add-ons are optional, they are important for users who require comprehensive data protection and recovery options.

When comparing pricing to other shared hosting providers, Web Hosting Hub stands out by offering unlimited resources, which can help avoid unexpected overage fees that are common with other hosts that impose limits on storage or bandwidth. Furthermore, the competitive pricing is balanced by the quality of service. The cost is reflective of the reliable performance, responsive customer support, and robust security measures provided.

For beginners and small businesses looking for a stable hosting solution without sacrificing features, the pricing of Web Hosting Hub is a strong point. It is especially attractive for those who can commit to a longer-term plan and take advantage of the discounted rates, making it a smart choice for budget-conscious users seeking a comprehensive hosting package.

Web Hosting Hub Support

Can you count on Web Hosting Hub's support? Our opinion.

4.0

Web Hosting Hub places a premium on customer support, understanding that reliable, accessible assistance is vital for users who may be new to managing websites. The provider employs over 200 support professionals based in the United States, ensuring that customers receive help from team members who are well-versed in the nuances of the service.

The availability of 24/7 support via multiple channels—phone, live chat, and email—means that users can obtain assistance at any time, which is particularly valuable for those who may encounter issues outside of regular business hours. At HostDean, we value the availability of phone support, but we’re not fond of the fact that Web Hosting Hub doesn’t offer it for customers on their most affordable plan. We believe phone support should be accessible to all customers, regardless of their plan.

Many users have noted that the live chat service is prompt and efficient, offering real-time guidance that helps resolve technical problems quickly. The support staff are trained to handle common issues ranging from domain management and email setup to more complex website migrations and troubleshooting of cPanel functionalities.

In addition to direct support, Web Hosting Hub provides an extensive knowledge base that includes tutorials, guides, and frequently asked questions. This self-help resource is beneficial for users who prefer to find answers on their own and has been praised for its clarity and comprehensiveness.

Despite these strengths, there are occasional reports of slower response times when using the email ticketing system during peak hours. While this does not significantly affect the overall user experience, it prevents the support score from being perfect

The company’s proactive approach to support is also evident in its community forums and live webinars, where users can exchange tips and receive additional guidance. The comprehensive nature of the support system reflects the provider’s commitment to ensuring that even those with little technical expertise can successfully manage their websites.

At HostDean, we appreciate a support team that not only resolves issues quickly but also educates users along the way. Web Hosting Hub’s support team achieves this balance by providing both immediate assistance and valuable learning resources.

Overall, the quality of customer support is a key reason why many users continue to choose Web Hosting Hub as their hosting provider, and it plays a crucial role in making the service user-friendly and reliable.

Web Hosting Hub Features

Are Web Hosting Hub's features impressive? Our hands-on review.

4.1

Web Hosting Hub’s feature set is focused on simplicity and ease of use, making it an excellent choice for individuals and small businesses that require straightforward, reliable hosting solutions

One of the standout features is the inclusion of unlimited disk space, bandwidth, and email addresses across all plans, which eliminates worries about resource limitations and allows websites to grow without encountering abrupt restrictions. This is particularly valuable for users who are just starting and do not yet have a clear idea of their future resource requirements.

Another key feature is the free domain registration offered with annual hosting plans. This benefit not only saves users the upfront cost of registering a domain but also simplifies the process of setting up an online presence. Additionally, Web Hosting Hub provides free SSL certificates with every plan, ensuring that websites can establish secure connections and improve their search engine rankings without incurring extra costs.

The integration of a free website builder, powered by BoldGrid and WordPress, offers a drag-and-drop interface that allows users to create professional-looking websites with minimal effort. This builder is built on WordPress, a platform known for its flexibility and extensive plugin ecosystem, further enhancing the creative potential for users.

The hosting environment is managed through cPanel, which is a widely recognized control panel for web hosting. This choice of control panel means that users benefit from a familiar and intuitive interface that streamlines the management of websites, email accounts, and databases.

Moreover, Web Hosting Hub offers one-click installations via Softaculous for a variety of popular applications such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and PrestaShop. This streamlines the website setup process, making hosting WordPress and other CMS platforms on WebHostingHub easier by removing the need to manually create the database and configure the CMS.

While Web Hosting Hub is focused on shared hosting, it includes a range of tools that enhance security and site management. Regular backups are available, though they come at an additional cost, and the platform offers advanced security features like malware scanning and custom firewalls to protect against threats.

The overall feature set is designed to cover the essentials without overwhelming the user with unnecessary complexity. However, for users who require more advanced features such as dedicated server resources or custom resource allocation, the absence of dedicated and virtual private server options may be a drawback. Despite this, the features offered are well-suited to its intended audience, providing all the tools necessary to build, secure, and manage a professional website.

These people are evil psychopaths who gaslight their customers

EVIL PSYCHOPATHS. They're experts at gaslighting. Web Hosting Hub messed me around for years, especially this year when I'm really sick. I finally lost my temper and they just canceled my account, kept my money, blocked me from contacting them, and STOLE MY DOMAIN. I had to get Icann and Tucow involved just to get an EPP code so I could transfer my domain out. Gaslighting is when you keep treating someone badly until they break, and then you point your finger at them and say they're the problem! They are truly evil people.

Great customer service and tech support for my website

I've been with Web Hosting Hub for many years to host my Virginia website. Obviously there are going to be issues that someone like me, a novice at web design, has no clue how to fix. Every single time, the service and tech advisors have gotten me out of a jam without any hesitation.

My site is for e-commerce and I need to make sales with advertising and promotion. When prices change, I have to update the site. I use third-party software from another country to build my pages, and Web Hosting Hub always figures out a way to make those pages work perfectly.

Web Hosting Hub is definitely worth the reasonable price.

WebHostingHub offers decent affordable hosting for basic needs.

I’ve been with Web Hosting Hub for a couple of years now, and they’ve been a pretty solid choice for what I need.

Their shared hosting plans are budget-friendly, and I’ve found their customer support to be dependable whenever I’ve had to reach out. The email forwarding feature is straightforward and works well for my small business needs.

That said, it’s important to set the right expectations!
WHH isn’t a high-performance web hosting solution (go for a VPS instead!). If you’re running a resource-heavy site or expecting blazing-fast speeds, you might be disappointed.

But for basic websites, blogs, or small projects where cost is a priority, they’re a decent option. For the price, I’ve been satisfied with what WHH delivers.

Unfortunately there are no negative stars, so this is 1 star

Unfortunately there are no negative stars, so I'm giving them 1 single star. They are the worst, so unprofessional. They can simply change plan details and you won't know because the name doesn't change, but you lose your facilities and privileges. Always ask them in writing for whatever plan you are buying from them.

Their servers get blacklisted easily, constant email problems

I've had more and more email problems for years. First, maybe around 2018, my emails started going to other people's spam folders more often. I fixed it by asking people to whitelist my address. Then a couple years ago, I started having emails bounce or not arrive on my end sometimes. Business emails would show up 2 days later (after a deadline) or just vanish. Now my emails are disappearing regularly. I'm getting errors about my server not being trusted. These people do NOTHING to make sure their servers are trusted or whitelisted. Now I'm stuck in an annual contract while I have to use my old Yahoo account to run my business. It's like setting money on fire. If I contact support, they tell me the only fix is to buy a crazy expensive account with a private server because they can't maintain the public ones, unlike every other free email service out there. This "company" should be investigated. DO NOT USE THEM! How much money and how many important emails have I lost over the years?

WebhostingHub has gone downhill and is no longer reliable for business

I agree with the other reviews. WebhostingHub was a great service back around 2015, but in the last few years, they've really gone downhill. Their servers are slow and get blacklisted for spam a lot, so there are tons of email issues. It used to be easy to get support, but now it's almost impossible. There's always a long queue, and the automated system tells you to "press 2" for a callback "without losing your place in line." But I ask for callbacks when I'm next in line, and after 2-3 hours with no call, I call back only to find I'm now #5 in line! It's become really disruptive for our business. I'm very disappointed. After being a happy customer for years, I'll be moving to another provider.

Cannot recommend them since they treat longtime customers like rubbish

I can't recommend Web Hosting Hub to anyone because they treat longtime customers like trash.

I've been with them for over a decade, maybe closer to 15 years. They always had nice customer service and my websites generally ran fine. But in recent years my sites got slower and slower, and now they're so sluggish I've given up.

I talked to their IT department, and they basically said I should move to their sister company for better servers or pay even more for a faster plan. And get this, I was already on their second most expensive plan (Nitro), which is supposed to be super fast!

I run three WordPress sites that might get 5-20 visitors a month combined. So my sites aren't causing much strain on any server. Yet my pages sometimes take 20-40 seconds to load, and they say nothing can be done!

I spoke to multiple IT experts there who tried some "fixes," but nothing really changed. The sites stayed slow, maybe feeling slightly faster for a minute. I already had Hostinger for another site, and after moving my sites there, everything loaded instantly with no delays. So when Web Hosting Hub advertises fast SSD speeds, it's just not true. I pay less now for shared hosting at Hostinger and the speeds are amazing. So Web Hosting Hub has treated me very poorly, thinking I'm dumb enough to keep paying for bad service.

The first 8 years or so were great, but now I feel overcharged and stuck on their worst servers. They just don't care about me as a customer, and it's unacceptable for my simple personal WordPress site to take over 20 seconds to load when I have fast fibre at home. I would have stayed if the speeds were good, but now they've lost me.

I'd tell anyone to stay away from this host and choose something else, like BlueHost or Hostinger. You'll get much better value for your money, because here they don't care about their customers, especially the ones who've been paying for years.

The last time I talked to their IT, they said they'd email me tips to speed up the site. I also asked for info on how to move my sites to another provider. Guess what? They never sent those emails. I checked junk mail, nothing. So yeah, it's clear they don't care about someone like me who's probably spent thousands with them. But I'm perfectly happy with Hostinger now, so thanks for the years when you were actually good.
