x10Hosting Review

I was initially really impressed with x10Hosting’s free plan. They offer a surprising amount of features at no cost, and I loved the value it provided. As a web developer, I started recommending it to clients who were on a tight budget, and everything was going well until issues began piling up.

The biggest problem came when x10Hosting suspended not only my account but also the accounts of every client whose hosting credentials I used to manage their sites. The reason given was a violation of their terms, but it felt extreme, especially since I was only making updates and changes on my clients’ behalf.

The suspension forced me to spend weeks relaunching all their sites elsewhere, not to mention dealing with the embarrassment and strain on those client relationships.

To make matters worse, their support team was completely unresponsive throughout the entire ordeal. On a separate occasion, they suspended one of my sites simply for creating a subdomain called “mailer.site.x10.mx” which was part of setting up a mailing system for a site that, at the time, had solid traffic for a free hosting user.

It’s a real shame how things turned out. What began as a generous and developer-friendly service ended up feeling like a push toward premium plans through punitive enforcement and poor communication. I wanted to believe in their model, but the experience left too much damage to overlook.
